2016 :: Gray Whale for the "Artists of the Jersey Bayshore" show at AJ Dillon Gallery...
I painted this up for a local group show at one of my favorite local galleries back in July..  Great show!!  On a sad note, Frank Leahy, the owner of the AJ Dillon Gallery in Atlantic Highlands, NJ passed away back in August.  He was a great friend and great artist and he is overwhelmingly missed by everyone in the Bayshore art community.  I was in many group shows at this gallery, and I also had a very successful solo show at this gallery as well last summer of 2015.  The gallery is closed now, but the memories will NEVER fade, all the awesome times I had at that gallery during the 3 years that I was involved with it.  Frank believed in me and my art and did so much for me and he even let me paint an installation mural on a wall in his gallery for my show!!  That was a fun night!! :-(

.2016 :: Brand NEW paintings for my upcoming solo show "The Wild Psychedelic"!!!
Here's a preview of all the new paintings for my upcoming solo show "The Wild Psychedelic" opening May 14th at The Concrete Gallery in Red Bank, New Jersey.  I started working on this new collection last summer, around July..  With these new paintings, I dived deeper into the details and really pushed my limits to see how intricate I can get with the patterns & illustration.  I also did something different with the backgrounds, by dividing them up with panels of color & contrasting dash stripes.  I really had fun producing these new paintings and I want everyone to come see them on May 14th, 6-9pm at The Concrete Gallery in Red Bank :-)

.2015 :: I painted some cassette tapes for a really cool group show at Speakeasy Gallery!!!
I've been really really busy since the opening of my solo show a few weeks back!!  I'll say it again, really really really busy, haha!!  My solo show "Land, Air & Sea" which runs until August 30th at AJ Dillon Gallery in Atlantic Highlands, NJ is going really well..  The opening night was really fun and a good number of my new paintings sold!!  There's still some paintings left to grab.  Anyway, since the end of June, I painted 4 brand NEW murals, I'm also working on NEW paintings in the studio, I have a couple paintings in a group show in Osaka, Japan at Calma Art Space right now (second summer in a row I've been in their summer group show)...
and Then there's these little paintings I did on cassette tapes for the "Mix Tape" group show at Speakeasy Art Gallery in Boonton, NJ.  The show opens this Friday at 6pm.
The idea was inspired by a Bob Marley song, so I did 3 sets of tapes, each set has 3 tapes and a bird painted on each set..  The idea of the show was for each artist to use cassette tapes and do a painting, installation, etc. based on a song.

"Three Little Birds"...  Acrylic paint and spray paint on plastic cassette tapes.

.2015 :: Really excited to be apart of the "Art On Guard" group show at Woot Bear in California...
I got invited by Chris Robots Will Kill & Boundless Brooklyn to custom paint a model of a California lifeguard house for a really cool group show out in San Francisco, California at Woot Bear.  I took this opportunity to paint my famous creepy box shaped character from my street & graffiti days.  I also used to paint him mixed in with abstract pieces on walls & on panels for solo & group art shows in years past.  It's been a few years since I've painted him for an art show, so it was definitely a fun change of pace from the stuff I've been painting.  I still however, paint him on walls every once in awhile, as I did last year and I'll probably paint him again this year at least one time.

.01.2014 :: I finally got to paint a collab with Chris RWK, JOS-L and James J. Kelewae..
First off, Saturday was so cold when I got to the wall, the bucket paint was particially frozen and I had to add some warm water to it to get it fluid enough to drip down the wall.  Then we all just pretty much shivered through the first day!!  Yesterday, when I went to finish up the wall with my pattern fills, it was sunny and much much nicer.  I wasn't shivering, so it was a good day :-)

.01.2014 :: A weekend of nice weather, camping out and crushing a giant wall...
I give you "Earth, Wind and Fire" (The Dragon in the Forest) .. Another year, another "site specific" mural deep in the woods on an abandoned building, yes, the same one I painted the giant abstract peacock mural on last year.  Weather was perfect for 3 days, ripped weeds out and buffed over the bricks to make a fresh new cavas to paint on.  As with last year, lots of people hiking by the wall, which is right next to a lake, all admiring my work.  I even saw some familiar faces that were happy to see me again and getting busy on a new mural, made some new friends and new fans of my art too.  This was something big I'm happy to cross off my "to do list" for this season, but I will be doing MORE walls this year, smaller ones.  I'm done with the really big ones for now..  I got some work to do in the studio..

.03.2014 :: Red, aqua blues, grays, black, white, splatter = "Death From Below"!!!
So, I went over to Colorest Art Supplies in Red Bank..  and Painted this killer wall!!!  I've been using this color palette with some of my studio work over the past month, and thought it would be perfect for the "shark" wall I've been wanting to paint.  Besides being inspired by my love for sharks, I was also inspired by the "shark faces" on those old World War 2 figther planes (spit fires).  It was a fun two days of painting, and now I'm back in the studio to paint some new stuff for a couple upcoming group shows.  There will be some more walls coming up during the fall, and one of them will probably be a giant one..  and I'll also be pretty busy in the studio throughout the fall as well.

August.13.2014 :: A little peek at one of the many NEW panels I'm currently working on...
I'm only at the "tip of the iceberg" here with a new body of work, but I got a bunch of panels in progress right now and a list of many more to go, ranging from small to large in size.  The collection is "untitled" at the moment and it's all for 2015.  I am continuing with the animal kingdom and nature for these new paintings and they'll be more detailed with a delicate balance of chaotic and clean layouts.

August.03.2014 :: Go BIG or go home..  My NEW wall, "Always Runnning to get Somewhere in a Hurry!!"
Here's my brand NEW wall, totally unplanned and completely free-styled with no sketch on the wall at all!!  It was a bit intimidating staring at 33 feet of blank white buff, and I haven't painted on a white background in a long time (I usually go with gray and black)..  Since I only had one good day of weather to paint, I was going to do half the wall, but then decided to go BIG and do the whole thing.  I had no set plans for this, just s bunch of grays, blues, pinks, yellows and black so I decided to paint one of my famous characters with a "new" look..  and I haven't painted one of my guys in a very long time either..  and I outlined him with jagged black lines, almost similar to my illustration style that you see in my studio paintings..  Oh yea, I painted this over at Colorest Art Supplies in Red Bank..

Tomorrow night is the opening for "ART ON THE EDGE" at the BAC Gallery in Belmar, New Jersey.  This will be the 5th year in a row that my art will be featured in this very popular group show that I've also been involved with as well over the years.  I helped start this show up five years ago and curated it in 2012 & 2013, and this year I co-curated the show.  I'll have a brand NEW painting in this year's show and keeping with tradition, it will feature my famous monsters!  Lots of awesome art will be on exhibit at this show, so come out...

June.05.2014 :: New Painting & Hand Embellished Prints coming out Tomorrow..
Tomorrow night is the opening for "Autonomous" at Speakeasy Art Gallery in Boonton, NJ.  The show will feature artwork and sculpture work inspired by robots.  So, I have a NEW painting for the show and a small edition of hand embellished prints being released at the opening.  The prints are from the new painting and each is signed, numbered and has a different monster sketch in the lower right corner.  They are 11x14 on hot pressed velvet cotton rag, printed with Epson archival inks and they were printed at Compton Gallery.  I had FUN with this new painting since Optimus Prime is my all time favorite robot and he really fits this piece well.  Lots more group shows coming up this summer!

So a few months ago I was asked by my photographer friend, Shannon Mulligan, to paint & illustrate a DSLR camera..  So I finally got to it and now it's all finished and it was a bit of a challenge since I had to do 5 sketches to get the proportions & perspective right.  Well, I'm pretty happy with it and so is she..  and It's going to be on display in her photo studio.

May.20.2014 :: The "Masked Chimera" for Bill KR..
Long time fan and collector of my famous characters and a pretty talented artist himself, Bill "KR" Stillman, asked me to make him a little painting of a character that was used in one of my recent sticker runs.  I haven't been painting these characters much since the end of 2012, except for a couple special commissions and on some walls that I painted last year.  He's been into my characters since about 2005, when he saw one of my giant ones painted on a wall in Brooklyn.

April.24.2014 :: Boonton Dog Daze 2.0 Pop*up Group Show & Preview..
So, again this year, I was commissioned to custom paint a life sized fiberglass dog sculpture for display on Main Street Boonton in New Jersey this coming summer.  I hand painted & illustrated three concepts that were included in this year's pop-up group show for "Boonton Dog Daze" that was on view during the last week of March.  Another talented artist taking part in this year's event is Rob Hessler from Savanah, Georgia..  As for the concept selected for my dog, you'll just have to wait a little while until I post it here ;-)

April.10.2014 :: Special Edition Print Release in Japan at Calma Art Space (Osaka)!!
I'm pretty excited about this opportunity overseas!!  I rarely do print runs for my paintings, but the owner at Calma Art Space is being really cool and doing a special print run for my "Organi-Kitty" painting.  It's Japan and they love Hello Kitty over there, so it makes sense!  Also, it's the gallery that I will have one of my shark paintings on exhibit at for their summer group show, titled "Sharks".  Anyway, for this print release, it will be printed in Osaka and shipped to me so that I can "hand embellish" each one.  Then I will ship it back to the gallery and it will be available there in Japan only.  I may do a special run here in the USA down the road.

Print Release Details .. Edition of 25, each "hand embellished" .. 10x10 inches, printed on smooth cotton velvet rag.

March.01.2014 :: Behind the Scenes of "Something Wild"...
As you know, with most of my solo shows in the past, I always try to take pictures and document the progress and some of my creative process in my work.  My new collection "Something Wild" was brainstormed, sketched, painted and illustrated in about two and a half months!  That also includes building panels, making my own acrylic ink, cutting some stencils, building a giant easel, painting a gigantic installation on massive panels, custom painting a half dozen model trains (finger flick painting them...  more on that later!).  "Something Wild" was painted in both my home studio and another larger studio in Asbury Park in the historic Masonic Hall building that my friend runs.  Oh yea, I also painted a large scale mural in Jersey City back in December too while working on "Something Wild"..  I never stop!!  Show opens this Friday, March 7th at Speakeasy Art Gallery in Boonton, New Jersey.  It will be a wild fun time!

Exactly one month from now, on March 7th, will be the opening reception for my upcoming solo show, "Something Wild" at Speakeasy Art Gallery, where I will unleash my NEW body of work!!  This is just a small teaser of a very large brand NEW painting, "C. Megalodon".  Not all of my new paintings are scary, but nature is not full of cute & fuzzy animals either, and also don't forget, some of those cute things can seriously hurt & even kill us!  My new work is a balance of all things beautiful & scary in nature, with a little Pop-Culture thrown in.

January.26.2014 :: Welcome to the New Year!!  I have a SOLO SHOW coming up in March...
Yea, that's right, I've been hibernating in my studio and working hard on NEW paintings for my big solo show at Speakeasy Art Gallery!!  I had a busy year in 2013, full of group shows, lots of murals, lots of painting and commissions after rebuilding my house after Hurricane Sandy..  Now, I'm starting off the year with a solo show and looking forwad to having another awesome year with more group shows and new murals and who knows what else.  Well, I'm still about three weeks away from finishing up my new collection, so I'm not celebrating yet!

December.29.2013 :: The Final Mural for this year...  and The last update for 2013!!
So, here you go..  I painted a NEW mural a few weeks ago on a mild weekend in Jersey City..  The Jersey City Art School hooked me up with the wall and provided the magenta background on one side & purple on the corner section, which is different from my usual black, gray or white backgrounds that I start with.  So, I decided to use a very bright & popping color palette with splashes of black.  I just went wild with this one and had fun incorporating the the corner section into this to give it a kinda 3D look.  I used Montana Black cans instead of MTN 94 on this wall, so that's why it has a little bit of a shine to it.  Well, 2013 is out!!  So, have a Happy New Year..  Have fun & be safe!

Here's something NEW that I finished a little while ago for a unique group art show in Trenton, New Jersey at The Gallery at Artworks Trenton.  It's a Halloween art show called "The Art of Darkness" that "officially" opens at the gallery this month on the 26th.  I call him "The Cat House Slasher"..  He's a 7-inch custom made killing machine that left a bloody trail across New Jersey, and has since been apprehended by the curators at the Artworks Gallery.  He managed to escape from my house and will soon plan an escape from the gallery!!

October.02.2013 :: BIG Canvas Painting that I did for Colorest Art Supplies in Red Bank..
So, here's a brand NEW commissioned painting that I had fun creating for Colorest in Red Bank, New Jersey.  I started this big piece at the Jersey Fresh Graffiti Jam way back in August.  The painting titled, "Center Point" is 40x30 inches, spray paint, acrylic and gouache.  Lots of layers, Pollock inspired and real texture which made illustrating with gouache a little bit challenging.  Everyone at the store loved it!!

September.12.2013 :: A Very "Blue & Moody" Wall on a Bright, Sunny Day..
It's bright and happy, then dark & moody!!  Black, grays, blues and purples, with a touch of pink.  It's half black & half gray, with brighter shades on one side, and darker shades on the other.  It was a fun wall to paint because of the change over in colors and shades!

August.27.2013 :: A Giant Peacock in the Woods!!  A NEW Mural I Painted for the Hikers..
I painted this massive wall last week, on a building that's right on a very heavily hiked trail in a really nice wooded section of Millburn.  During the two sunny, perfect days that I was out there painting, over 100 people got to see this mural come together little by little..  A few people watched for over an hour, some even came over to talk with me while I was painting..  And a local photograhper, Stuart Tyson, took a few pictures of me in front of it after I was done!  Woods, a big pond, ducks, toads, chipmunks, two perfect days = Fun time painting!

First up, is the wild mash*up mural I did in Asbury Park, properly titled "Wild Pink Flamingo" .. My FIRST mural on a black background in a really long time!!  The color palette was pinks & grays..  The piece consisted of dot patterns, a wild organic flowing pattern, my little sparrow birds and Pollack styled splatter & dripping (I went very heavy on both!).  So, now I've painted three murals in the Asbury Park skate park since May..  Next up, is a brand NEW painting, "Aurora Borealis", on a triple primed panel, 21x17..  Acrylic, spray paint and ink.  The new painting will be featured in a group art show called, "The Movement" in Jersey City this Saturday evening, August 10th.

July.07.2013 :: NEW Mural, in Somone's House!!  "A Lazy Day at The Beach"..
I rarely do murals indoors and the last time I did, it was last summer in two brownstones in Park Slope Brooklyn.  So, a guy who owns a lot of my paintings asked me to paint a mural in his girlfriend's living room, which was a birthday gift for her, from him.  She lives across the street from the beach in Belmar and her place has a beach theme, so that was the inspiration for the wall.  So, about 20 hours later during an entire weekend, I turned her plain white wall into a huge piece of art!!  The palm tree was a beast, but I had a lot of fun with this mural..  At least she has something nice to look at when it's freezing cold and there's a foot of snow on the ground outside during the winter!

June.07.2013 :: Here's The "Jessie Mash*Up" for Speakeasy Gallery!!
This was a really exciting project & opportunity, thanks to Speakeasy Gallery in Boonton, New JerseyI painted a "life sized" sculpture of a basset hound, and then tattooed (illustrated) it..  FUN!!  I heard Jessie got a lot of attention at the preview party last night..  She is going to be put on display tonight in front of the gallery, where she'll be until October.  My sister has a female bassett hound, named Jessie, that loves me to death, so that's where the name came from.  This year is really turning out to be a good one so far, since getting side-tracked for almost eight months with the rebuilding of my house after Hurricane Sandy smashed the Jersey Shore and my house!

I just finished a brand NEW wall on the Jersey shore in Asbury Park over the weekend..  May is "Pink Month" for cancer awareness, so I used a variety of pinks, grays and black for this piece and I had a ton of fun with it too!  It's a color palette I've always wanted to paint with and this month was a perfect time to bring it out.  Two nice sunny days, fun times, loud music & skaters jumping ramps!

May.5.2013 :: I Painted a Bunch of Murals By The Beach in Belmar during April..
Throughout the month of April, I took part in the Belmar Ocean Front Beautification Project.  After the hurricane made a mess of Belmar's boardwalk & their ocean front, the town blocked off Ocean Avenue to all traffic while the new boardwalk was being built.  At the end of each street there were 20 foot long cement highway barriers screaming for some art..  So, I was commissioned by the Belmar Arts Council and the town to paint my art on four of them.  I did three 20 footers and one short one.  It was a fun project for several weekends.  Now, I got some new paintings & cool commissions in the works.

April.25.2013 :: Progress On Some NEW Work, Finally..
I finally got my house together, I'm living in it now and slowly starting some new paintings!!  These are just a few pieces I started a few weeks ago.  I'm going back to making my famous paper panels (watercolor paper mounted on wood).  However, these are much lighter and way nicer than my previous ones I did back in 2011.  They have a deeper edge and look more like wood boxes.  I did some deep staining and my overall color palette is going to be more natural looking colors, grays, reds, yellows, oranges, blues, greens, some purple.  There will be  MORE illustration, more detail on my new paintings as well.  I also just finished up a bunch of murals for a fun public arts project in Belmar, NJ that started back in March.  I'll be posting those pictures soon.

January.16.2013 :: Fall Walls Bursting with Color..
Here are three HUGE murals I painted during September & October of 2012..  I was supposed to paint more but Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey shore and I had to take a break from painting so I can rebuild my house (which I'm still working on).  These 3 walls were really fun to do and the Halloween mural is actually still up in Asbury Park, NJ!!  There will be more murals, probably late winter/early spring.  There are a  few spots that I've checked out in North Jersey for painting, plus I'll also look out for public art opportunities.

These panels were fun to do, especially the panels with the characters on them, which was a commisison for my friend Chris Adamek, who also tattoos me..  and he's a super talented tattoo artist too!!  He used his panels as ceiling tiles, which look really cool (I'll get a picture next time I go to the shop).  The other set of panels were done for New Jersey band, SCIENCE..  Good guys & good friends, plus I already painted their amps back in May, which was a fun project!  Both commissions were done on birch wood panels with spray paint, homemade inks and acrylic paint.  Right now, I'm on the edge of finishing a few more large commissions, so stay tuned for those.

December.04.2012 :: My Custom Kid Robot "Cat*Heads" to be Featured in a Really Cool Art Show..
So, it's been awhile, but Hurricane Sandy has something to do with that!  I have been living with my aunt for the past month and it looks like it's going to be longer since my house is still nowhere near being ready to move into.  My first floor was washed out by the storm!  But on a positive note, I was able to paint two 7*inch Kid Robot "Cat*Heads" for an awesome art show coming up this Friday, December 7th in Boonton, New Jersey at a cool little art space, called The SpeakEasy Gallery.  I was actually "invited" to participate in this unique exhibit.  The name of the art show is "Munny Makers" .. I'm slowly finishing other projects and rebuilding my house.
